सुप्रीम कोर्ट ने गुरुवार को कहा कि अंतिम समय में बदलाव करने से 5 फरवरी को परीक्षा देने वाले सभी 9,00,000 छात्रों के बीच भ्रम पैदा हो सकता है।
सुप्रीम कोर्ट ने गुरुवार को इंजीनियरिंग में ग्रेजुएट एप्टीट्यूड टेस्ट (गेट 2022) को स्थगित करने से इनकार कर दिया, यह कहते हुए कि अंतिम मिनट में बदलाव से 900,000 छात्रों के बीच “अराजकता और अनिश्चितता” फैल सकती है। इससे पहले बढ़ते कोरोना महामारी को देखते हुए इस परीक्षा के लिए उपस्थित होने वाले सभी छात्रों ने परीक्षा को स्थगित करने की मांग करते हुए तीन याचिकाएं सुप्रीम कोर्ट में दायर कीं थी।
सुप्रीम कोर्ट के न्यायमूर्ति धनंजय वाई चंद्रचूड़, सूर्यकांत और न्यायमूर्ति विक्रम नाथ की पीठ ने गुरूवार को कहा कि “अदालतों के लिए अकादमिक मुद्दों में शामिल होना खतरनाक है। हम छात्रों के करियर से नहीं खेल सकते है। हमें वैधानिक अधिकारियों को इन मुद्दों को तय करने की अनुमति देनी चाहिए। परीक्षा 5 फरवरी को होनी है। ज्यादातर छात्रों ने इसकी तैयारी पहले ही कर ली होगी। स्थगन का कोई भी आदेश अराजकता और अनिश्चितता की संभावना से भरा होता है।”
मालूम हो कि GATE का आयोजन मास्टर कार्यक्रमों में प्रवेश और कुछ सार्वजनिक क्षेत्र की कंपनियों में भर्ती के लिए किया जाता है। GATE 2022 के लिए नोटिफिकेशन अगस्त में जारी किया गया था और एडमिट कार्ड पिछले महीने जारी किए गए थे।
