BCCI: बीसीसीआई (BCCI) के पदाधिकारियों ने पिछले सप्ताह केंद्रीय वित्त मंत्री (Finance Minister) निर्मला सीतारमन (Nirmala Sitaraman) से मुलाकात कर अगले साल भारत में होने वाले वर्ल्ड को लेकर सरकार से टैक्स में छूट देने की मांग की है। बीसीसीआई अध्यक्ष सौरभ गांगुली (Sourav Ganguly), सचिव जय शाह (Jay Shah) और राजीव शुक्ला पिछले सप्ताह वित्त मंत्री से मिले थे।
जानकारी के मुताबिक बीसीसीआई के पदाधिकारियों ने सरकार से कहा कि अगर टैक्स में छूट नहीं मिली तो भविष्य में भारत में इंटरनेशनल टूर्नामेंट के आयोजन में दिक्कत होगी। बीसीसीआई ने वित्त मंत्री को बताया कि पहले भी देश में इंटरनेशनल क्रिकेट बोर्ड (आईसीसी) के टूर्नामेंट आयोजित कराने पर टीडीएस में 10 प्रतिशत की छूट मिली है। बीसीसीआई के मुताबिक वित्त मंत्री ने इस पर विचार करने का आश्वासन दिया है।
भारत में अगले साल अक्टूबर-नवंबर में आईसीसी (ICC) वनडे वर्ल्ड कप का आयोजन होना है। इससे पहले 1987, 1996, और 2011 में भारत में वनडे वर्ल्ड कप का आयोजन हो चुका है, लेकिन यह पहला मौका जब भारत वनडे वर्ल्ड कप की अकेले मेजबानी करेगा। इससे पहले भारत ने तीन बार संयुक्त मेजबानी की थी, लेकिन मुख्य मेजबान भारत ही था। आईसीसी अपने किसी भी टूर्नामेंट की मेजबानी के लिए मेजबान देशों की सरकार से टैक्स में छूट की गारंटी लेती है। आईसीसी और बीसीसीआई के बीच इस बात को लेकर हमेशा विवाद होता आया है।
2011 वर्ल्ड कप में मिली थी छूट
2011 वर्ल्ड कप का आयोजन भारत में हुआ था उस समय मनमोहन सिंह (Manmohan Singh) की सरकार ने आखिरी समय में टैक्स की छूट की अपील को मान लिया था। 2016 में जब भारत ने टी20 वर्ल्ड कप की मेजबानी की थी तब बीजेपी सरकार ने सिर्फ 10 प्रतिशत टीडीएस की छूट दी थी। एक समय ऐसा भी आया था जब भारत से टी20 वर्ल्ड कप 2021 की मेजबानी छीनने के आसार नजर आ रहे थे, क्योंकि उस दौरान भारत सरकार ने किसी भी तरह की छूट देने से इनकार कर दिया था।
