पड़ोसी देश श्रीलंका में हाहाकार मचा हुआ है। अस्पतालों में दवाएं खत्म होने से डॉक्टर्स ने मरीजों का ऑपरेशन रोक दिया। पेट्रोल पंप पर फ्यूल के लिए दो-दो किलोमीटर लंबी लाइनें लग रहीं। खाने की चीजें इतनी महंगी हो गईं कि लोग भूखे सोने को मजबूर हैं। आलम ये है कि पेट्रोल से भी महंगा दूध बिक रहा है।
एक कप चाय की कीमत 100 रुपये हो गई है। मिर्च 700 रुपये किलोग्राम बिक रही है। एक किलो आलू के लिए 200 रुपये तक चुकाने पड़ रहे। फ्लूल की कमी का असर बिजली उत्पादन पर भी पड़ा है। अब कई शहरों में 12 से 15 घंटे तक बिजली कटौती हो रही है। ऐसी स्थिति में भारत ने फौरी तौर पर श्रीलंका को एक अरब डॉलर की मदद दिया है।
कई देशों का कर्ज
श्रीलंका पर कई देशों का कर्ज है। यहां जनवरी में विदेशी मुद्रा भंडार 70 फीसदी से ज्यादा घटकर 2.36 अरब डॉलर रह गया था, जिसमें लगातार गिरावट आती जा रही है। विदेशी मुद्रा की कमी के चलते ही देश में ज्यादातर जरूरी सामानों दवा, पेट्रोल-डीजल का विदेशों से आयात नहीं हो पा रहा है। बीते दिनों आई रिपोर्ट की मानें तो देश में कुकिंग गैस और बिजली की कमी के चलते करीब 1,000 बेकरी बंद हो चुकी हैं और जो बची हैं उनमें भी उत्पादन ठीक ढंग से नहीं हो पा रहा है।
पेट्रोल से महंगा बिक रहा दूध
पिछले साल 30 अगस्त को श्रीलंका सरकार ने मुद्रा मूल्य में भारी गिरावट के बाद राष्ट्रीय वित्तीय आपातकाल की घोषणा की थी और उसके बाद खाद्य कीमतों में काफी तेज बढ़ोत्तरी हुई। इस संबंध में बीते दिनों आई एक रिपोर्ट में देश में महंगाई को आंकड़ों के साथ पेश किया गया था। जनवरी में आई इस रिपोर्ट में बताया गया था कि नवंबर 2021 से दिसंबर 2021 के बीच महज एक महीने के भीतर ही श्रीलंका में खाद्य वस्तुओं की महंगाई 15 प्रतिशत बढ़ गई थी।
इसके बाद जो हालात बने उसका अंदाजा इस बात से लगाया जा सकता है कि देश में एक किलो मिर्च की कीमत 710 रुपये हो गई, एक ही महीने में मिर्च की कीमत में 287 प्रतिशत की बढ़ोतरी हुई है। यही नहीं बैंगन की कीमत में 51 फीसदी बढ़ी, तो प्याज के दाम 40 फीसदी तक बढ़ गए। एक किलो आलू के लिए 200 रुपये तक चुकाने पड़े।
यही नहीं, एक लीटर पेट्रोल की कीमत 254 रुपए है जबकि एक लीटर दूध 263 रुपये में बिक रहा है। लोगों को एक ब्रेड का पैकेट भी 0.75 डॉलर (150) रुपये में खरीदना पड़ रहा है। यहीं नहीं एक किलोग्राम चावल और चीनी की कीमत 290 रुपये प्रति किलोग्राम तक पहुंच गई है। मौजूदा समय में एक चाय के लिए लोगों के 100 रुपये तक खर्च करने पड़ रहे हैं।

महंगाई ने तोड़ दिए सारे रिकॉर्ड
देश के विदेशी मुद्रा संकट के बीच पेट्रोलियम की कीमतें आसमान छू गई हैं। रिपोर्ट के मुताबिक, श्रीलंका की सरकार के पार पेट्रोल और डीजल खरीदने के लिए विदेशी मुद्रा नहीं बची है जिससे ये संकट और भी गहरा गया है। कुछ दिनों पहले श्रीलंका से ऐसी तस्वीरे आईं कि लोग पेट्रोल खरीदने के लिए पेट्रोल पंप पर टूट पड़े हैं और लोगों को नियंत्रित करने के लिए सेना बुलानी पड़ी। हजारों लोग घंटों तक कतार में इंतजार करके तेल खरीद रहे हैं। देश में डॉलर की कमी ने सभी क्षेत्रों को प्रभावित किया है। देश में फरवरी में महंगाई 17.5 प्रतिशत के रिकॉर्ड स्तर पर पहुंच गई जो कि पूरे एशिया में सबसे ज्यादा है।
दिवालिया होने की कगार पर देश
मुद्रास्फीति का रिकॉर्ड स्तर, खाद्य पदार्थों की कीमतों में उछाल और कोरोना महामारी से पैदा हुई परेशानियों के कारण देश के खजाने सूख रहे हैं। हालात यहां तक खराब हो चुके हैं कि इस देश के इस साल दिवालिया होने की आशंका है। एक पूर्व रिपोर्ट में कहा गया है कि देश को अगले कुछ महीनों में घरेलू और विदेशी ऋणों में अनुमानित 7.3 अरब डॉलर चुकाने की जरूरत है, जबकि उसके पास देश चलाने के लिए भी पैसे नही बचे हैं।
